What is Latinos in Bio?
- Latinos in Bio was incorporated June 9th, 2021 in Massachusetts as a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization.
- It has been operating since August 1, 2019.
- Started with a small Steering Committee and over the course of the pandemic it has grown to more than 750 members.
- The organization has now appointed 4 Officers and 13 Board members.

Mission
Latinos in Bio is a pioneer, first-in-kind, organization of latino leaders and professionals in Biotechnology and the Life Sciences in Massachusetts.
Purpose
Latinos in Bio is dedicated to creating opportunities for success and amplifying the social capital of Latinx professionals in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical technology and other fields within the life sciences industry; and, by so doing, making a meaningful impact in the industry and in the
United States.

The organization seeks to:
- Elevate the visibility of the Latinx community in the life sciences;
- Provide leadership training, education and mentoring for Latinx to enter, grow and prosper in the life sciences industry;
- Create a network within the Latinx community that will aid in the advancement of opportunities and social exchange among its members;
- Forge a path for younger Latinx professionals to enter the life sciences industry and facilitate access to career opportunities; and
- Provide thought leadership [to the public ] on diversity, inclusion, belonging, equity, opportunity and access in the life sciences.
Strategic Goals 2023
- Continue to build momentum for the Latinos in Bio organization.
- Foster an inclusive culture, develop a unique brand and raise awareness of our mission.
- Grow the membership to achieve a critical mass (800+) to expand our reach, amplify our voice and ensure our message is heard in the community.
- 750+ Total Members as of end of July 2023
- Continue forging collaborations with Life Sciences companies, industry organizations, and recruiting firms to have them join us in furthering our mission.
